In 1992 he opened his first boutique in Paris, where he presented his first collection (Love, Trash, etc.) and began to get noticed by the Italian fashion industry.

Since then his shoes became a set of sensuality and beauty for women and celebrities. According to the designer, the red and shiny color of the sole has the sole function of identifying a shoe like his by the public. The red sole “provocative of envy” was also the protagonist of a lawsuit, which has as its purpose the claim of the sole itself as the exclusive heritage of the footwear of the maison.

He collaborates with various designers such as Chloé, Lanvin, Roland Mouret, Diane von Furstenberg, Alexander McQueen and Victor & Rolf. For many years he designed shoes for Jean Paul Gaultier. Many celebrities have shown off their creations, including Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Blake Lively, Victoria Beckham, Lindsay Lohan, Katie Holmes, Eva Longoria, Sarah Jessica Parker, Catherine Deneuve, Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Kate Moss on the day of his marriage, Dita Von Teese, Mika. In 2007 he was involved in the fetish-themed David Lynch photographic exhibition at the Galerie du Passage in Paris, for which Lynch expressly requested his collaboration: new creation of the genius of the stiletto Christian Louboutin are his fetish ballet heels, from the vertiginous heel and characterized by the red sole. In 2010 he dedicated his creation, called “Blake”, to the actress Blake Lively, her great friend, as well as a big fan of the brand.

In 2012 Christian Louboutin celebrates its 20th anniversary with a capsule collection of 20 shoes [1] and bags [2], with the inauguration of the first online boutique [3] aimed at the European market, with a book published by Rizzoli [ 4] and with an exhibition at the Design Museum in London [5].
